Ho Chi Minh City Launches Solar Power Support Campaign for Cuban Schools

According to VNA, Nguyen Loc Ha, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, emphasized in his remarks that the event is a vivid proof of the great and strong friendship between the two peoples, a sentiment that has endured through the test of time.
Vice Chairman Nguyen Loc Ha also noted that Vietnam and Cuba are always close to each other in the hearts of each citizens, despite being far apart. He quoted President Fidel Castro "For Vietnam, Cuba is willing to shed its blood", affirming that this is a concrete action, a noble sacrifice that the Cuban people have made for Vietnam.

Recognizing that Cuba is facing many difficulties, including the energy crisis that seriously affects life, especially in the field of education. The installation of solar power for schools can be considered a practical step, reflecting the Vietnamese people's tradition of international solidarity and addressing common challenges.
The campaign was organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations and the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City, with the cooperation of many agencies, organizations, and social communities. The campaign period is expected to last until the end of November 30, 2025.

At the ceremony, the organizer received more than VND 1.6 billion in donations from 12 units, businesses, and benefactors to support the installation of solar power for primary schools in Cuba.
In response, Ariadne Feo Labrada, Consul General of Cuba in Ho Chi Minh City, expressed her appreciation for the affection and practical support actions that the Party Committee, the government, and the people of Ho Chi Minh City for the Cuban people. The "Sunshine Without Borders" program shows the spirit of sharing, compassion, and internationalism - core values that contribute to fostering the special relationship between the two peoples, she stressed.
On behalf of the Cuban Party, Government, and people, she respectfully acknowledged and thanked the companionship of organizations, businesses that are friends of Cuba, as well as a large number of Vietnamese people who have joined hands to contribute to bringing better learning conditions for Cuban children in difficult times.
