On many streets such as Bach Dang, Tran Phu, Nguyen Thai Hoc, etc, no tourists are seen.

Without tourists, shops on Nguyen Thi Minh Khai street closed early.

"During the Tet holidays of previous years, my shop was always crowded with both domestic and foreign visitors. This year, the epidemic forced me to close the shop early”, said a shop owner in Hoi An ancient town.

Charlie (an American tourist, left) and his friend Yassine said that this is the first time that they have come to Hoi An.

"My friends told me that Hoi An is very beautiful. I feel really safe when staying in Vietnam as everyone here abides by the regulations on Covid-19 prevention and control”, Yassine said.

"Knowing the complex Covid-19 situation, my family brings hand sanitizer, wear face masks and refrain from contacting with other people", said Do Ngoc Linh, a tourist from Da Nang city.

Talking to Zing, Director of the Quang Nam Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Thanh Hong said that this Lunar New Year, the number of visitors to Hoi An has significantly declined.
