Japan honours four Vietnamese for promoting bilateral relations

Many honorees have made various activities to promote friendship, understanding, culture-art exchange, education and religion, contributing to boosting the development of the Vietnam-Japan strategic partnership, such as Most Venerable Yoshimizu Daichi, former Chairman of the Japanese Pure-Land Buddhist Church; Rector of VNU Vietnam Japan University, Prof. Furuta Motoo, etc,.

Speaking at the event, Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Kono expressed his gratitude to the honorees for their unceasing dedication in exchange activities between Japan and its partner countries.

Four Vietnamese hounoured are Buddhist nun Thich Tam Tri, head of the Vietnamese Buddhist Association in Japan; Assoc. Prof. Ngo Minh Thuy, Vice President of the University of Languages and International Studies; Prof. Dr. Vo Tong Xuan, Rector of Nam Can Tho University; and Nguyen Duc Hoe former Rector of the Dong Du Japanese Language School.

For her part, Buddhist nun Thich Tam Tri expressed her pride, saying that this is an honour not only for herself but also the whole Buddhist and Vietnamese community in Japan.

Vietnamese people living and working in Japan are contributing to enhancing solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Japan, she stressed./.
