The founding congress of the Vietnam - Germany Friendship Association of Kien Giang province, the 2024-2029 term, took place on November 15 in Rach Gia city.

Speaking at the congress, Vice President of the Kien Giang Union of Friendship Organizations To Van Dan suggested that the provincial Vietnam - Germany Friendship Association proactively expand solidarity and friendship with people of other countries, especially the Federal Republic of Germany, progressive peace-loving organizations in the world and overseas Vietnamese to enhance mutual understanding, contribute to promoting Kien Giang to friends around the world, calling for trade cooperation, economic investment, tourism, education, science - technology for the province.

It needs to strengthen the mobilization of aid and sponsorship resources from foreign non-governmental organizations and foreign enterprises; focus on building and developing the association organization, paying attention to developing strong affiliated branches, operating effectively and comprehensively in both people-to-people diplomacy and funding mobilization for social security.

According to the proposed direction, in the 2024-2029 term, the local Vietnam - Germany Friendship Association will strengthen coordination with the German Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City and the Vietnam - Germany Friendship Associations of provinces and cities.

The Kien Giang's Vietnam - Germany Friendship Association will act as a bridge for cooperation between businesses and schools of the two countries to create job opportunities and career counseling for local youngsters. At the same time, foreign affairs activities should focus on depth in the process of developing relations with partners; strengthen people-to-people information work; introduce Vietnamese culture and people to German friends; organize a streamlined and effective organizations; develop grassroots organizations and members; as well as build solidarity, harmonize interests, and progress among members.

At the congress, the Kien Giang's Vietnam - Germany Friendship Association also presented water purifiers to Tho Chau Primary and Secondary School at Phu Quoc city and Vo Van Kiet High School at Rach Gia city.
