Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Vietnam Saud F. M. Al-Suwelim, on behalf of the KSrelief, presented the token of humanitarian aid to Tran Van Sinh, Head of the Movement Division of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, VNA reported.

The ceremony took place under the witness of Deputy Foreign Minister Dang Minh Khoi.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, the ambassador expressed his sympathy over human and asset losses caused by recent floods in central Vietnam, and his hope that the aid will help local residents to overcome difficulties and soon stabilise their lives.

Sinh, for his pary, thanked for the practical assistance of the King Salman Humanitarian tid and Relief Centre, adding that the agency will quickly send the aid to affected provinces.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dang Minh Khoi spoke highly of the valuable support of the Saudi Arabian Government and people in general and the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre in particular for Vietnam, believing that this will help deepen relations between the two countries.

Saudi Arabia is a major market and one of Vietnam’s important partners in the Middle-East – Africa region.

The two countries’ import-export value has been rising and hit USD 1.87 billion in 2014. In 2020, the figure reached USD 1.6 billion despite the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Saudi Arabia is running six projects with total registered capital of USD 2.37 million in Vietnam, ranking 89th among 139 countries and territories investing in the Southeast Asian nation./.
