Eid al-Fitr: One of the biggest Muslim festivals take place this weekend
	Embassies of Arabic, Muslim Countries in Vietnam Host Eid al-Fitr Fasting Ceremony

According to the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Vietnam, the event was attended by representatives from various Vietnamese ministries and agencies, including the Ministry of Ethnic and Religious Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, as well as ambassadors, chargés d’affaires, members of diplomatic missions from Muslim countries, and a large number of members of the Muslim community in Hanoi.

Eid al-Fitr, also known as the Festival of Breaking the Fast, is one of the most important holidays in Islam. It marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan - a period during which Muslims observe fasting, prayer, and reflection, striving to become better versions of themselves both spiritually and morally. The conclusion of Ramadan is a time when Muslims around the world celebrate Eid al-Fitr in a joyful atmosphere.

Eid al-Fitr is among the most significant holidays in the Islamic calendar. During this occasion, Muslims typically gather with family and friends to pray, exchange gifts, and enjoy festive meals. It is a time for forgiveness, compassion, and unity, as people come together to celebrate the completion of a month of spiritual renewal.

Celebrations of Eid al-Fitr vary from country to country but commonly include visiting family and friends, exchanging gifts, enjoying feasts, wearing new clothes, and visiting the graves of loved ones.

In Saudi Arabia, after performing Eid prayers, people often gather with children, who receive new clothes, toys, and “Eidia” gifts, which may include money (similar to lucky money in Vietnam). Families and friends then enjoy coffee, dates, sweets, and traditional dishes together. On the first evening of Eid al-Fitr, people go out dressed in their finest attire, often newly purchased for the occasion, to watch fireworks and exchange greetings of “Eid Mubarak,” meaning “Blessed Eid.”

At the celebration, several Muslim embassies also introduced their countries’ cuisine, culture, and customs associated with Eid al-Fitr.

Attendees not only immersed themselves in the vibrant and festive atmosphere of Eid al-Fitr but also experienced Arab and Islamic cultural spaces, explored traditions and cultural identities, and enjoyed a variety of traditional dishes, pastries, and specialties from these countries.

The event also featured a range of diverse cultural activities, including henna art, Arabic calligraphy, and engaging activities for children such as figurine painting, along with unique circus and magic performances.
