At Thoi An Hoi Secondary School, a team of doctors, dentists and PVF volunteers conducted general examinations, dental examinations, visual screenings, electrocardiograms, handheld ultrasounds, and blood glucose tests for hundreds of students and people. Students from kindergarten to junior high were also given cream, toothbrushes, and eyeglasses. In particular, the program awarded 50 scholarships and presents (each worth 1 million VND) to students and local households with difficult circumstances.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of Thoi An Hoi Commune People's Committee Do Hoang Tuan expressed his deep appreciation and gratitude for the noble gesture of the medical team and donors. "These precious material and spiritual gifts aims to be a motivation for students to strive to study and for all participants,' said Do Hoang Tuan.

Thoi An Hoi commune is an area with many difficulties, most of the people are farmers, many of which are poor and near-poor. Thoi An Hoi Secondary School currently has 1,091 students, most of whom are children of disadvantaged families. Teaching facilities and equipment are still limited. This medical examination and treatment program is especially important for the community, not only for public health but also for empowering students to go to school.

President of the Can Tho Union of Friendship Organizations Le Thi Thanh Giang noted that this is a meaningful people-to-people exchange activity, contributing to strengthening solidarity and friendship between the Vietnamese people and international friends. "Taking care of public health is a common responsibility of the whole society and needs the cooperation of many resources,' she said.

Within the framework of this year's charity program, PVF and the Union of Friendship Organizations of Can Tho City will continue to implement free medical examination and treatment activities, dispensing free medicines in Dai Hai, Ke Sach and Nhon My communes from now until September 1. About 400 people and students will be examined and given free eyeglasses and medicines.

Dr. Quynh Kieu, Chairman of PVF, shared that she was emotionally touched when he returned to Can Tho after 12 years and felt a deep attachment to the local people. She hopes that in the coming time, such programs will receive even more companionship from the government and organizations in Vietnam to implement more support in the field of health, especially for children with autism and disadvantaged families.

The program not only contributes to taking care of community health, but also serves as a bridge between friendship and people-to-people cooperation between Can Tho and international friends.
