Navy Delegation Visits, Encourages and Gives Tet gifts in Truong Sa Special Zone

A working delegation of Naval Group 129, led by Senior Lieutenant Colonel Le Xuan Tam, Deputy Political Commissar of the Group, concluded a visit to encourage, extend Tet greetings and present gifts to military personnel and civilians on Sinh Ton Island, Truong Sa Island, Nui Le and Toc Tan Island in the Truong Sa special zone, Khanh Hoa province, on February 1.

Truong Sa Soldiers and People Stand Resolute, Looking Ahead to the 14th National Party Congress

Departing on January 16 and covering a journey of nearly 1,000 nautical miles, at 12:15 on February 1, Ship 638 of Squadron 921, Naval Group 129, safely brought the delegation back to the unit’s port (Phuoc Thang Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) after the Tet visit to military personnel and civilians in the Truong Sa Special Zone, Khanh Hoa province.

The delegation of Naval Group 129 warmly visited, encouraged, extended Tet greetings and presented more than 50 gift packages worth 80 million VND to military personnel and civilians on Sinh Ton Island, Truong Sa Island, Nui Le and Toc Tan Island. In particular, implementing the Navy’s program “Joining Hands in Spring to Safeguard the Sea - A Warm Tet for the Military and the People,” Senior Lieutenant Colonel Le Xuan Tam presented lucky money to schoolchildren with a total amount of 25 million VND, contributed by officers, professional servicemen, defense workers and employees of the unit. Though modest, the gifts carried the flavor, warmth and sharing from the mainland to the distant islands, strengthening trust and resolve and contributing to firmly safeguarding the sacred sovereignty over the nation’s seas and islands.

The delegation also listened to leaders, commanders of units and residents sharing that in 2025, military personnel and civilians on the islands remained steadfast and united, fulfilled their tasks well, and ensured absolute safety in all aspects. Currently, units are disseminating and thoroughly grasping tasks for 2026, strengthening combat readiness, and promoting emulation movements to achieve the highest results in celebration of the 14th National Congress of the Party and the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam, while ensuring all conditions for military personnel and civilians to welcome the Spring of Binh Ngo 2026 in a joyful and healthy manner with high combat readiness. At the same time, they pledged that officers, soldiers and residents on the islands would always place firm trust in the leadership of the Party and the administration of the State, deeply grasp the tasks for 2026, unite as one, and work together to firmly safeguard the sovereignty over the nation’s seas and islands.

Senior Lieutenant Colonel Le Xuan Tam visited, presented gifts, encouraged and shared the difficulties and hardships of military personnel and civilians on the frontline of the Fatherland, and wished officers, soldiers and residents on the islands good health, unity and determination to successfully accomplish all tasks in 2026.

Along with transporting the delegation for visits, Tet greetings and gift-giving to military personnel and civilians on the islands, Ship 638 of Squadron 921, Naval Group 129 also delivered equipment and essential supplies to the Truong Sa Island logistics and technical service center, Sinh Ton Island, and the fishing village detachment on Nui Le and Toc Tan islands (managed by Naval Group 129); as well as 500 trees and soil for planting donated to Nui Le and Toc Tan islands to implement the “Greening Truong Sa” program.

On this occasion, the delegation of Naval Group 129 also met, encouraged and presented gifts, national flags and leaflets disseminating Directive 45 of the Prime Minister to fishing vessels from Gia Lai province (BD 98833 TS, BD 96606 TS, BD 98176 TS and BD 97885 TS) operating in waters of the Truong Sa special zone.
