On the morning of February 19 (the third day of the Lunar New Year), the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with Da Nang Port Joint Stock Company and the Da Nang Port Border Guard, organized a welcoming ceremony for the cruise ship Seabourn Encore, operated by Tan Hong Travel Company, upon its arrival at Tien Sa Port.
The vessel carried more than 1,000 people, including 580 passengers from the United Kingdom, France, and the United States, along with approximately 500 crew members. It was among the most notable “first-foot” cruise arrivals of the city’s tourism sector during this year’s Tet holiday.
Upon docking, visitors were warmly greeted amid the festive atmosphere of Vietnam’s traditional Lunar New Year, featuring lion dances, souvenir gifts, conical hats, and gift boxes containing banh chung and banh tet. These activities not only demonstrated local hospitality but also helped promote Vietnamese culture to international friends.

During their stay in Da Nang, visitors explored many of Central Vietnam’s distinctive attractions, including the Da Nang Museum of Cham Sculpture, the Marble Mountains scenic complex, and the ancient town of Hoi An. The harmonious blend of heritage values, natural landscapes, and professional services continues to affirm Da Nang’s position as a culturally rich, friendly, and appealing destination.
Beyond the cruise call on the third day of Tet, during the peak period through February 22, 2026, Da Nang will continue to receive additional international cruise ships. Specifically, on February 20 (the fourth day of Tet), the city is set to welcome approximately 2,800 visitors from key European markets such as Italy, France, the United Kingdom, and Spain. On February 22 (the sixth day of Tet), Da Nang will receive a further 650 European visitors to explore and experience the city’s signature tourism offerings.
In total, during the Lunar New Year of Bính Ngọ 2026, the city welcomed nearly 4,200 cruise passengers, contributing to a dynamic and positive start for the tourism sector.

Tan Van Vuong, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, stated that the results demonstrate the strong recovery and growth of the cruise tourism segment. In the coming period, the city will continue to intensify market promotion efforts, enhance the quality of tourism products and services, and strengthen cooperation with cruise lines, seaports, and international travel enterprises to attract more cruise calls and visitors.
In 2025, Da Nang recorded 47 cruise ship arrivals with 57,600 passengers, representing a 37.1 percent increase compared to the previous year, with 12 additional ship calls. Entering 2026, growth momentum is expected to continue, with plans to welcome 59 cruise ships and more than 64,000 passengers - an increase of approximately 11 percent compared to 2025.
The positive signals seen from the very beginning of the Lunar New Year are expected to lay a solid foundation for the sustainable growth of Da Nang’s tourism sector in 2026, contributing actively to the city’s socio-economic development goals.
