In her remarks, Director General of the Asia-Oceania Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands Dominique Kuhling congratulated Vietnam on the 80th anniversary of the National Day. She affirmed that the Netherlands attaches great importance to the Strategic Partnership on Climate Change Adaptation and Water Management, the Strategic Partnership on Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security with Vietnam. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands in particular and the Government of the Netherlands, in general, will continue to coordinate to strengthen economic relations, cooperation in high technology and deploy business delegations of the two countries. Also, the Netherlands thanked the Vietnamese Government for exempting tourists from visas for Dutch nationals. She hoped that the two sides would continue to cooperate in international and global issues.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Netherlands Ngo Huong Nam noted that during the 80-year journey of national defense and development, many outstanding achievements in the fields of foreign affairs, politics and economics were achieved. Vietnam and the Netherlands are important and priority partners within the framework of the Comprehensive Partnership with two pillars: the Strategic Partnership on Climate Change Adaptation and Water Management in 2010 and the Strategic Partnership on Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security in 2014.

According to the Vietnamese diplomat, the bilateral economic relations are developing strongly, with the potential for a breakthrough in the coming time. The Netherlands continues to be Vietnam's largest trading partner in the European Union, surpassing Germany. Also, the Netherlands is the largest EU investor in Vietnam. He expressed confidence that the Netherlands' early ratification of EVIPA will open a new chapter in bilateral economic cooperation. At the recent Deputy Ministerial Political Consultation, the two countries agreed in principle to upgrade bilateral relations to a new level.
In his remarks, Ambassador Ngo Huong Nam also thanked Dutch businesses that have invested and succeeded in Vietnam, contributing positively to Vietnam's economic growth over the years.

Within the framework of the celebration, to honor the 10 most outstanding Dutch businesses contributing to the bilateral economic cooperation, a special display was made by Dutch Business Association in Vietnam (DBAV).

Another highlight of the ceremony was the art program imbued with Vietnamese identity. Guest also enjoyed Vietnamese cuisine through dishes such as pho, spring rolls, and traditional cakes. A "Vietnamese Agricultural Products Corner" was organized by the Embassy in collaboration with DBAV, attracting many visitors.
