This category is for destinations with outstanding development, strong potential, and growing appeal to domestic and international travellers. Nominees are also acknowledged by the global tourism community for their commitment to sustainable development, product, service quality, and regional competitiveness.
Ninh Binh’s latest nomination reflects the province’s sustained efforts to build an internationally recognised destination brand.
The local tourism sector has maintained strong growth in recent months. In July 2026, the province was estimated to have welcomed nearly 1.116 million visitors, up 23.53% compared to last year, including almost 921,000 domestic tourists and more than 195,000 international arrivals. During the first seven months of 2026, Ninh Binh received an estimated 18.727 million visitors, up 23.34% compared to last year. The figure included 16.725 million domestic tourists and 2.002 million foreign visitors.

The World Travel Awards 2026 nomination comes as the province is implementing major national and provincial policies on the development of cultural industries and tourism, while implementing a resolution of the provincial Party Committee on Ninh Binh’s cultural industry and tourism development strategy through 2030, with a vision to 2045.
Following that, the province affirms that tourism development will be based on promoting the province’s outstanding cultural and natural heritage values, and culture will serve as an internal strength, creativity as a driving force, and green and digital transformation as the foundation for development.
The nomination is expected to further enhance the image and brand of Ninh Binh tourism while creating opportunities to promote the province’s heritage, culture, and people internationally, attract visitors and strategic investors, and advance green, sustainable, and high-quality tourism development.
