On October 3rd, at the Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone Cultural Center Square, the People's Committee of An Giang province, in coordination with the Embassy of the Republic of Korea (RoK) in Viet Nam, inaugurated Viet Nam - RoK Cultural Day 2026.

According to the organizers, the Korean side will set up spaces to promote tourism, culture, agricultural products, and characteristic foods. The Korea Tourism Organization and the Korea Creative Content Agency will implement activities to experience and learn about Korean culture and tourism. The “Viet Nam - RoK Through Books” space will display publications, documents, newspapers, and paintings introducing the countries, people, and cultures of the two nations.

On the Vietnamese side, the “An Giang Cultural Imprint” exhibition showcases the history and cultural heritage of Oc Eo - Ba The, national treasures preserved in the province, and the cultural life of the Kinh, Cham, Khmer, and Hoa communities. An Giang also introduces OCOP products, Cham cultural spaces, cuisine, heritage, and local performing arts.

The art program featured performances by Vietnamese and RoK's artists. The Korean side presented Taekwondo and traditional musical instruments in a contemporary Fusion Gukak style. The Vietnamese side included performances by artists from An Giang and Phu Quoc, along with singers Isaac and Do Nam Son.

In her opening remarks, Vice Chairman of the Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone People's Committee Nguyen Thi Kim Loan stated that the program provides an opportunity for people from both countries to meet, experience, and appreciate the unique cultural values ​​of each nation. Through exchanges between artists, youth, businesses, and tourists, the event contributes to strengthening understanding and fostering friendship between Viet Nam and Embassy of the RoK in Viet Nam. It also serves as an opportunity to promote the image of An Giang and the potential and unique values ​​of Phu Quoc to international friends.

According to Nguyen Thi Kim Loan, cultural exchange activities also open up opportunities to promote economic, trade, and investment cooperation and help Korean businesses understand the investment environment in An Giang province.

First Secretary of the Embassy of the RoK in Viet Nam and Director of the Korean Cultural Center Park Chan A, assessed that the program is significant in strengthening exchanges and friendship between the people of the two countries. She stated that the of the Embassy of the RoK in Viet Nam and the Korean Cultural Center in Viet Nam will continue to play a bridging role in culture, promoting people-to-people exchanges and contributing to deepening bilateral relations.

The organizers stated that the choice of Phu Quoc as the venue aims to enhance cultural exchange and people-to-people diplomacy, contributing to deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. The event also links cultural activities with promoting Phu Quoc as a destination, tourism, and cooperation opportunities ahead of APEC 2027.
