Da Nang Launches Free Korean Language Course for Local Residents
The classes will be held in person at Dong A University over nearly four months, from August 17 to December 2.

The course includes beginner-level classes for those starting from scratch and intermediate-level classes for learners who already have a foundation in Korean. The course has attracted 110 students of various ages and backgrounds, including pupils, university students, and Da Nang residents. Many lecturers and staff members of Dong A University have also registered for and joined the course after their teaching and working hours to “add” a new foreign language to their skills.

Speaking at the program, Kwon Hyuk Han, Head of the Administration Division of the Korean Language Center in Ho Chi Minh City, expressed his pleasure at working with Dong A University to organize the Korean language course for Da Nang residents.

Highly appreciating the university’s preparations and the teaching staff for the course, Kwon Hyuk Han said he was impressed by the students’ enthusiasm for learning, particularly those who, despite being busy with their daytime work, still set aside time in the evenings to master a new language.

He expressed his belief that the students participating in the course would remain persistent and gradually explore the new language with the support of lecturers from Dong A University and the Korean Language Center in Ho Chi Minh City.

Sharing her views at the program, Master Vu Thi Ngoc Anh, a lecturer at the Faculty of Korean Language and Culture at Dong A University, said that although the course is offered entirely free of charge, the university continues to place strong emphasis on training quality, from its teaching staff to instructional materials. The lecturers participating in the course hold master’s degrees or higher, have studied in the Republic of Korea, possess expertise in the Korean language, have a thorough understanding of Korean culture, and have extensive teaching experience.

With students from various groups and different universities across the city taking part, the organization of this Korean language course has further created a vibrant space in Da Nang for learning, connection, and exchange through the Korean language.
