The film revolves around the journey of Hoang Xuan Vinh, the first athlete to bring home an Olympic gold medal for Vietnamese sports. It will be a celebration of perseverance, discipline, the teacher-student relationship, and the silent sacrifices behind the glory of a champion.
Director Dinh Tuan Vu said that the project was conceived and filming began in 2020, but postponed due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. Now, the film is officially entering its final stages with the ambition of becoming one of the exemplary international collaborative projects of Vietnamese cinema.
"The Last Bullet" features a production team from both countries, aiming to tell a Vietnamese story using cinematic language with international reach. The project is supported by producer Patrick Park, who previously worked on the Oscar-winning film Parasite, and many renowned K-artists such as Lee Kyung Young, Lee Jung Eun, and Jung Il Woo, alongside a Vietnamese cast including Nhan Phuc Vinh, Thanh Huong, Luong Gia Huy, and many other prominent figures.
