Over 1,500 kids from Ha Tinh province receive free cardiovascular examination
(VNF) - The Ha Tinh General Hospital, health experts of the charity program “Heart for kids” and Thoracic-Cardiovascular Surgery Department from Viet-Duc Hospital, have provided free cardiovascular examinations for over 1,500 kids in Ha Tinh province.
The examinations uncovered over 100 cases of congenital heart diseases and 43 patients are expected to undergo urgent operations.
Apart from providing essential information on how to have a healthy heart, the charity program “Heart for kids” also presented over 1,500 gifts to kids.
According to Associate Professor, Doctor Nguyen Huu Uoc, Head of the Thoracic-Cardiovascular Surgery Department from Viet-Duc Hospital, the examination has contributed to narrow the gap between health workers from Central to grass-roots levels, thus saving money for local people as well as demonstrating a good example for socialization of health care in Vietnam.
Currently, the average ratio of congenital heart diseases in Central Ha Tinh province is 5.8%, much higher than normal of the nation (3.5%).
