At the handover ceremony, Julie Vanková, Head of the Center for the Support of Foreigners (CPIC) in the Karlovy Vary Region, expressed her appreciation for the generosity of the Vietnamese community in Cheb. She noted that the donated goods not only provide practical assistance to people in difficult circumstances but also embody the spirit of solidarity, compassion, and the strong bonds between the Vietnamese community and the Czech people. She expressed her hope that such meaningful humanitarian initiatives would continue and expand in the future.

Representing the Vietnamese community, Do Cong Thang, President of the Association of Vietnamese People - Asia Dragon Trade Center - Cheb City and surrounding areas, thanked the CPIC, the Karlovy Vary Food Bank, and the Committee for National Minorities in Cheb for creating opportunities for the Vietnamese community to contribute to the locality where they live. He said that the charitable initiative not only reflects the Vietnamese community’s sense of responsibility toward the host society but also helps uphold Vietnam’s long-standing tradition of mutual support and solidarity, embodied in the saying that those in better circumstances should help those less fortunate.

During the first donation drive, the delegation handed over a wide range of essential supplies, including 180 bottles of cooking oil, 300 kilograms of sugar, 333 packs of various types of pasta, 396 liters of milk, 300 kilograms of flour, 1,350 packs of instant noodles, 60 boxes of toothpaste, and 27 boxes of clothing and footwear.

The program was made possible through the joint efforts of Giac Dao Pagoda, Asia Dragon Trade Center, the Buddhist Association of Giac Dao Pagoda, organizations, businesses, benefactors, and a large number of members of the Vietnamese community in Cheb.

The initiative not only demonstrates a spirit of compassion and social responsibility but also helps strengthen friendship and solidarity between the Vietnamese community and the people of the Czech Republic, thereby continuing to promote a positive image of Vietnamese people in their second homeland.
