According to the latest research by Radical Storage, an online luggage storage platform operating in travel technology, Hanoi ranked eighth among the world’s top 10 best street food cities.
The result continues affirming the appeal of the capital's cuisine to international tourists.
Radical Storage analysed 6,897 cuisine businesses in 100 cities welcoming the most travellers.
The ranking is created based on many criteria including the number of businesses rated 4 stars or higher, the diversity of cuisines, the proportion of affordable venues, the availability of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options, and the density of food establishments per square kilometre.
Paris (France) ranked first with a 7.2/10 score, followed by Athens and Thessaloniki (Greece).
The remaining places in the top 10 were Barcelona (Spain), London (the UK), Rhodes (Greece), Rome (Italy), Hanoi (Vietnam), Budapest (Hungary), and Amsterdam (Netherlands)
According to Radical Storage, the attraction of Hanoi comes from the combination of traditional food rich in regional identity, reasonable cost, and the experience of enjoying food directly on the streets and alleys of the old quarter.
This platform recommends that tourists shouldn’t miss signature dishes and drinks such as pho, bun cha, banh my, and egg coffee when coming to Hanoi.

In recent years, Hanoi repeatedly received high praise for its cuisine from international tourism organizations and specialist travel publications.
The Michelin Guide has included numerous eateries and restaurants in Hanoi in its selections, with many street food venues receiving Bib Gourmand recognition, a category for establishments offering high-quality food at reasonable costs.
Besides, the Tripadvisor tourism platform has also repeatedly honoured Hanoi in Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best awards, marking Hanoi as one of the world's top cuisine destinations.
TasteAtlas also regularly ranks Vietnamese dishes such as pho, banh mi, and bun cha among the best foods worldwide.
With the variety of dishes, distinctive flavours, and affordable prices, street food has long been one of Hanoi’s unique tourism products, contributing to promoting Hanoi’s image and attracting more international tourists.
The Vietnam National Authority of Tourism has announced that Hanoi has continued making its mark by ranking second among the world’s 10 cities with the friendliest customer service ranking released by UK-based financial platform MoneySuperMarket. |
In the first four months of 2026, Hanoi welcomed an estimated 12.14 million visitors, marking a year-on-year increase of 20.9%. Total tourism revenue surpassed VND 50.8 trillion, up 22.8% compared to the same period in 2025. |
