Vietnam sends congratulations to DPRK on WPK's 75th founding anniversary

The 33 photos on display feature high-level visits and major events between Vietnam and the DPRK, vividly demonstrating the fine bilateral friendship over the past seven decades.

Photos and objects featuring the visit to Vietnam by leader of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DRPK) Kim Jong-un in March last year are on display in the northern border province of Lang Son.

The space showing these photos and objects was inaugurated at a ceremony jointly held by the People’s Committee of Lang Son province and the DPRK Embassy in Vietnam at the provincial Museum on November 4.

In his remarks, Duong Xuan Huyen, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, said Vietnam and the DPRK established diplomatic ties on January 31, 1950. The DPRK is one of the first countries to set up diplomatic ties with Vietnam.

Highlighting the fine traditional friendship between the two countries and Parties over the past 70 years, the official described Chairman Kim’s Vietnam visit as a milestone in the relations.

The historic event has played a role in expanding and developing the time-honored friendship in the context of the evolving global political situation, according to Huyen.

Dong Dang International Railway Station in Cao Loc district, Lang Son province, is a big station which is connected with Pingxiang railway station in China’s Guangxi province.

In February last year, the station was the place to welcome and bid farewell to leader Kim in his five-day stay in Vietnam for the second DPRK-USA Summit and the official friendship visit to the Southeast Asian nation.

The same year, the station was recognised as a tourist site, which is expected to contributing to diversifying tourism products of Cao Loc district in particular and Lang Son province in general.

Apart from Chairman Kim’s trip to Vietnam last year, the photos give insight into the Vietnam-DRPK relations from 1957 until now, including the visits to the DPRK by President Ho Chi Minh and other Party and State leaders of Vietnam, as well as Vietnam’s hosting DPRK guests.

To promote the values of the station and the display space, Huyen suggested the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and relevant departments and agencies to step up the collection and communication work.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Ri Ho Jun, charge d'affaires of the DPRK Embassy, thanked the provincial Party Committee and People’s Council for collecting and displaying the photos and objects, which, he said, has helped to tighten cooperation and friendship between the two Parties and States. /.
