PLAN International builds vocational training workshop for disadvantaged youth in Hanoi
(VNF) - On November 20th, the inauguration ceremony of car body painting and repair workshop, funded by Hyundai E&C, Hyundai Motor Company, the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and PLAN International Vietnam, was held at Hanoi Industry Vocational College (HNIVC).

The inauguration of the workshop marks a successful collaboration between HNIVC and PLAN International. PLAN plays an extremely important role in connecting donors such as Hyundai E&C, Hyundai Motor Company and KOICA, as well as coordinating all the project activities.
The workshop were upgraded from the school’s facilities and supplied with modern equipment in a VND 3.3 billion (USD 150,000) project. Currently, two classes with the total of nearly 40 learners have been organised at HNIVC and in practice. This courses (6 months) will be done at HNIVC with the aims to ensure good working skills and promising careers for learners after graduation.

The renovation of two workshops was part of a project to support vocational training for disadvantaged youths from July 2015 to May 2018. It focuses on high-quality vocational training for the goal of becoming an industrialised country by 2020 of Vietnam. With this project, young people, especially disadvantaged ones, have the opportunity to access to modern technology and equipment so that they can become skilled labors in the competitive working environment.
The project also grants scholarships to hundreds of students every year and helps them find jobs after graduation.
The inauguration ceremony of the workshop at HNIVC was successfully accomplished. This is an important milestone, confirming the potential success of the project, providing career opportunities and the chance to improve life for hundreds of disadvantaged students./.
