President of Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Extends Vesak 2026 Greetings

On the occasion of Vesak 2026 - Buddhist Calendar Year 2570, Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Politburo Member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, and President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF), sent a congratulatory letter to senior Buddhist dignitaries, monks, nuns, lay Buddhists, and Buddhist followers.

Vietnamese Buddhist Sangha meets Dalai Lama, extends invite for Vesak celebration in Vietnam

In her letter, Bui Thi Minh Hoai noted that Vesak 2570 - Gregorian Year 2026 is taking place in the atmosphere of the country having successfully organized a number of major political events, including the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the elections for deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 tenure, and the 11th National Congress of the VFF for the 2026-2031 term. At the same time, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha is also organizing many major events, including congresses of Buddhist representatives at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, leading up to the 10th National Buddhist Congress and the 45th anniversary celebration of the establishment of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (1981-2026).

“Joining in the shared joy of the nation and the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in welcoming Vesak, on behalf of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, I respectfully extend to senior Buddhist dignitaries, monks, nuns, lay Buddhists, and Buddhist followers my warm regards, heartfelt sentiments, and best wishes,” Bui Thi Minh Hoai wrote in the letter.

According to the President of the VFF Central Committee, amid intertwined opportunities and challenges, under the wise leadership of the Party, the determined governance of the Government, the support of the National Assembly, and the active participation of all strata of society, including the important contributions of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha at all levels and Vietnamese monks, nuns, and Buddhists both at home and abroad, the country has achieved significant accomplishments across various fields. Socio-economic development has continued to advance, national defense and security have been maintained, social welfare has been ensured, people’s living standards have improved, and the country’s position and prestige in the international arena have been elevated.

Bui Thi Minh Hoai affirmed that Vietnamese Buddhism has consistently upheld the spirit of “protecting the nation and serving the people” and “with the Dharma accompanying the nation,” while actively contributing to national construction and development, promoting social morality, and strengthening the great national unity bloc. The VFF highly appreciates the important contributions made by the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and Buddhist followers to the country’s overall development achievements.

She expressed confidence that the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and Buddhist followers would continue to uphold the patriotic tradition and the spirit of “protecting the nation and serving the people” and “with the Dharma accompanying the nation,” while joining the entire Party, military, and people in solidarity and concerted efforts to build an increasingly prosperous, strong, civilized, and happy country in the new era.

At the end of the letter, the President of the VFF Central Committee extended her wishes to senior Buddhist dignitaries, monks, nuns, lay Buddhists, and all Buddhist followers for a peaceful Vesak season filled with harmony, unity, and fellowship among fellow practitioners.
