On September 23, within the framework of the working visit to Oman, Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Hang had a meeting with Vice Chairman of the Oman Investment Agency (OIA) and Chairman of the Vietnam-Oman Investment Fund (VOI) Nasser Bin Suleiman Al-Harthy and Chairman of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) Sheikh Faisal Abdullah Al Rawas.
Meeting OIA Vice Chairman, Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang highly appreciated the role of OIA as a pioneer investor of Oman and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region in Vietnam, making an important contribution to promoting the positive development of bilateral relations.
She noted that OIA has achieved significant results when bringing the total investment capital in Vietnam to exceed US $500 million and suggested that OIA continue to expand into fields such as technology, financial centers, strategic infrastructure, and high-tech agriculture.

In his remarks, OIA Vice President Nasser Bin Suleiman Al-Harthy emphasized that Vietnam's development potential is impressive, and that Oman has timely implemented projects for becoming one of the first GCC countries to invest in Vietnam.
He highly appreciated the economic and institutional reforms in Vietnam, thereby creating a favorable environment for foreign investors. OIA will continue to expand and improve the efficiency of investment activities, and at the same time promote more Omani and GCC enterprises to participate in projects in Vietnam, towards the goal of increasing the total investment capital to US $1 billion as committed at the meeting with Prime Minister of Vietnam Pham Minh Chinh in May 2025.
The two sides agreed to promote the signing of cooperation agreements in the fields of food security, financial centers and Halal industrial park development.
During the meeting with OCCI Chairman Sheikh Faisal Abdullah Al Rawas, the highlights are the extensive views on the potential for economic, trade and investment cooperation. Both sides agreed to implement many specific solutions to strengthen relations in the coming time.
The Chairman of OCCI highly appreciated the position and attractiveness of the Vietnamese market, affirming that Vietnam is not only a destination for Omani investors but also of many Middle East and international partners.
He emphasized that Vietnam not only stands out for its economic growth. It is also admired for its resilient people, culture and history, which is entering a new stage of development, with the role of an innovation center.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang affirmed that Vietnam is willing to coordinate with relevant agencies of the two countries to further promote the connection between the business community and investors of the two countries, especially the Vietnam Confederation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI).
Vietnam wishes to strengthen multifaceted cooperation with Oman, especially in the fields of economy, investment, oil and gas, agriculture; requested OCCI to increase information to Omani investors, businesses and partner countries about opportunities for economic, trade and investment cooperation in Vietnam. She encourages OCCI and VCCI to expand their cooperation portfolio to fields such as innovation, creativity, artificial intelligence and strengthen coordination to organize Omani business delegations to Vietnam and vice versa. Taking advantage of the international fairs and exhibitions in the two countries will make an important contribution to bringing Vietnam-Oman relations to a new level, she said.
