Ambassador Nasly Isabel Bernal Prado highly appreciated the role of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations in people-to-people diplomacy, connecting the people of Vietnam with those around the world, including the people of Chile. She also expressed her wish to further strengthen cooperation with the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations during her tenure in Vietnam.

On the occasion of the two countries celebrating the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2026 (March 25, 1971 - March 25, 2026), the Ambassador shared plans of the Embassy of Chile in Vietnam and officially invited the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations to participate in and coordinate the organization of commemorative activities, starting with the ceremony marking the 55th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Chile diplomatic relations, tentatively scheduled for March 25, 2026.

Phan Anh Son affirmed that Vietnam-Chile relations are built on a long-standing historical foundation, laid by President Ho Chi Minh and the late President Salvador Allende. He recalled the ceremony commemorating the 52nd anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Chile diplomatic relations, jointly organized by the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations and the Embassy of Chile in Vietnam on March 25, 2023, in Hanoi, with the attendance of former Chilean President Michelle Bachelet.

Highly valuing the positive developments in bilateral relations, especially following State President Luong Cuong’s visit to Chile in November 2024, Phan Anh Son stated that the Union will closely coordinate with the Embassy of Chile in Vietnam and the Vietnam-Chile Friendship and Cooperation Association to implement practical and effective programs commemorating the 55th anniversary of Vietnam-Chile diplomatic relations.

President Phan Anh Son wished Ambassador Nasly Isabel Bernal Prado a successful tenure in Vietnam and expressed hope that she would continue to promote people-to-people relations between Vietnam and Chile to new heights. He also proposed that during her tenure, the Ambassador pay attention to and promote efforts to ensure that the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations and the Vietnam-Chile Friendship and Cooperation Association maintain regular communication channels, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of people-to-people diplomatic cooperation between the two countries.
