According to the Embassy of Vietnam in Laos, speaking at the opening ceremony, Bien Thi Ky, Head of the Vietnam Ao Dai Heritage Club in Laos, emphasized that the establishment of the club stems from the desire to preserve and promote the traditional cultural values of the Vietnamese nation within the Vietnamese community in Laos. She noted that the ao dai is not only a traditional costume but also a symbol of the beauty, spirit, and cultural identity of Vietnam.
Bien Thi Ky said that the Vietnamese community in Laos has a long history of close ties and has made positive contributions to the development of the special friendship between the two countries. In the context of international integration, the creation of community cultural spaces such as the Vietnam Ao Dai Heritage Club in Laos plays an important role in strengthening community bonds, promoting the image of Vietnam as elegant and humane, and enhancing cultural exchanges between the peoples of the two countries.

In her congratulatory remarks, Naly Sisoulith, spouse of Lao Party General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith, expressed her pleasure at attending the meaningful program on the occasion of International Women’s Day. She highly appreciated the initiative to establish the Vietnam Ao Dai Heritage Club in Laos, describing it as a practical activity that contributes to preserving and promoting Vietnam’s traditional cultural values while strengthening understanding and cultural exchanges between the peoples of Laos and Vietnam.

Naly Sisoulith extended her best wishes to Vietnamese and Lao women and expressed confidence that women of the two countries would continue to play an important role in nurturing the special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.
Vietnam’s Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Minh Tam also praised the initiative to establish the club, noting that it aligns with the policy of promoting and preserving national cultural values in the new period. He said the initiative helps spread the image of the ao dai - an iconic cultural symbol of Vietnam - to international friends while strengthening cultural exchanges between the two nations.

During the program, the organizing committee officially introduced the executive board of the Vietnam Ao Dai Heritage Club in Laos, marking the establishment of a new community cultural organization of Vietnamese people in Laos.
A highlight of the event was an artistic program and ao dai performance featuring club members and the Vietnamese community in Laos. Ao dai collections themed “The Ao Dai - Grace Passed Through Generations” and “Love for the Homeland Ao Dai” honored the elegant beauty of Vietnam’s traditional costume while demonstrating cultural connections across generations and between the Vietnamese and Lao peoples.

The event not only marked the celebration of International Women’s Day but also signaled the beginning of activities to preserve and promote Vietnam’s ao dai heritage in Laos, contributing to strengthening solidarity within the Vietnamese community and further deepening the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, and strategic ties between Vietnam and Laos.
