Doseba Tua Sinay, Country Director of WVI/VN, expressed the organization’s hope that the Da Nang People’s Committee will continue to provide close support and coordination to ensure programs are implemented smoothly and effectively address local needs. He called on the city to assist with updating program and project information following the administrative merger of communes; instruct newly established communes to maintain direct coordination with WVI in implementing activities; and work toward a unified coordination mechanism while reviewing and updating agreements and approvals in line with the new administrative units.
Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi acknowledged and highly appreciated WVI’s strong support, extending her gratitude to Doseba Tua Sinay for spearheading many major programs and projects dedicated to the city.
Nguyen Thi Anh Thi emphasized that WVI-funded programs and projects carry profound humanitarian value, providing practical support for disadvantaged communities, particularly vulnerable children. These initiatives, she noted, have helped create brighter futures for children while improving the livelihoods of many families. WVI has stood alongside the city in protecting, caring for, and educating children, and in advancing social welfare, especially in disadvantaged areas of the former Quang Nam province.
Currently, WVI is sponsoring and implementing four Area Programs in Da Nang, with a total committed budget of USD 9.69 million. These include the An Hai and Son Tra Area Program; the Hoa Khanh and Hai Van Area Program; the Thanh My, Ben Giang, and Nam Giang Area Program; and the Nam Tra My, Tra Van, and Tra Linh Area Program. In addition, WVI supports a number of projects focused on assisting children with disabilities, improving livelihoods, and ensuring access to clean water and safe sanitation for communities.
