In An Phu Commune, fishing vessel QNg 920.94 TS was posted with a warning board for lacking a vessel monitoring system and valid inspection papers. It is one of 54 substandard fishing vessels in the locality; the border guards have installed monitoring notice boards on 22 vessels, while the remainder have largely been absent from the area for many years. Lieutenant Nguyen Duc Phong, Head of Co Luy Border Guard Control Station, said the measure was intended to ensure that vessels do not put to sea before completing all mandatory requirements.

The Sa Ky Seaport Border Guard Station has also coordinated with local authorities to organise commitments from 45 seafood purchasing facilities and fuel shops not to support violative vessels. Le Thi Bich Nhung, a seafood buyer, said businesses had agreed not to assist ineligible vessels to join local efforts to have the yellow card lifted. According to Senior Lieutenant Colonel Lam Dinh Hieu, the unit has stepped up public communication, inspections, and patrols on land and rivers to promptly rectify violations.
According to the Quang Ngai Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the province has fully registered and updated data for all 4,850 fishing vessels in the VNFishbase system, reaching 100 per cent, and all 4,733 active vessels have been licensed. Since 2024, 15 vessels violating foreign waters have been handled. Quang Ngai has completed all 19 anti-IUU tasks assigned by the Government and is determined to join the nation in building a safe and responsible fisheries sector.
