Recently, at Van Don International Airport, representatives from Quang Ninh’s tourism industry welcomed the American millionaire tourist group of 4 people from families of Weil and Concordia. One traveler is a famous millionaire in the financial field who traveled by seaplane from Hanoi to the International Airport Van Don.

The positive signs from the large number of luxury and high-end tourists are a testament to the efforts of Quang Ninh's tourism industry to meet the demand, actively cooperating with domestic and foreign businesses and travel agencies over the years.

The American millionaire tourist group expressed their appreciation for the warm reception of the province. They are impressed by the unique and majestic beauty of Ha Long and Bai Tu Long Bay when viewed from a seaplane.

American millionaire Weil shared that he and his family find Vietnam to be a wonderful country, with friendly and hospitable people.

“We are very excited to come to Vietnam, especially to admire the magnificent beauty of the World Heritage Site of Halong Bay. We are grateful for the warm welcome of the local authorities and the friendliness of the people here,” he said.

This is the second millionaire delegation to Quang Ninh via Van Don International Airport. Previously, in early 2025, two millionaires in the American financial sector Jeff Grinspoon and Jon Thomas Foley came to Quang Ninh to visit Ha Long Bay under this special program.

From now until the end of 2025, Quang Ninh will continue to welcome a group of millionaire tourists. Van Don International Airport will welcome three charter flights from South Korea and six flights from Shenzhen (China) to Quang Ninh.

The positive signs from the large number of luxury and high-end tourists are a testament to the efforts of Quang Ninh's tourism industry to meet the demand, actively cooperating with domestic and foreign businesses and travel agencies over the years. They will visit Ha Long Bay and Bai Tu Long - indispensable stops in the journey, to observe the special attraction of the world natural heritage, and increasingly affirm Quang Ninh's position on the global high-end tourism map.

Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh province Nguyen Lam Nguyen noted that identifying new and potential tourism markets to expand is always one of the strategic and important tasks of the tourism industry.

“Quang Ninh focuses on developing potential international markets such as cruise tourists, visitors from India, the Middle East, South Korea, Australia and European countries with high spending and long stays,” said the Deputy Director.

Another important task is to develop of strong, distinctive tourism products of Quang Ninh, such as sea and island tourism, high-class entertainment, resort tourism, and spiritual and cultural tourism. The priority is given to new high-quality, world-class, differentiated and outstanding tourism products, meeting the increasing needs of domestic and international tourists.

Along with the traditional products of Quang Ninh tourism, there are also high-end product lines available. They make a good impression on tourists, especially international visitors, namely the reality show "Finding pearl marks" at Vung Duc cave; cruise night street on Ha Long Bay; explore Bai Tu Long Bay, explore the pristine island... Also, international branded hotel complexes such as Hyatt, InterContinental Ha Long welcome an increasing number of high-end international tourists, contributing to improving revenue for the tourism industry.

To attract international high-end tourists, billionaires, and millionaires to Quang Ninh, the local tourism industry has made efforts to work with travel agencies to approach the direction of "reducing the quantity, increasing quality, and increasing guest spending"; at the same time, to build a specialized tourism program for this group of tourists.

According to the assessment of Indian travel companies, Quang Ninh is currently the favorite tourist destination thanks to a series of high-quality hotels and resorts and attractive landscapes. In particular, the world heritage sites of Ha Long Bay and Yen Tu scenic spots always attract international tourists; it is forecast that the number of Indian tourists to Quang Ninh will increase sharply in 2025.

One of the impressive highlights for Quang Ninh's tourism industry is the exciting cruise tourism, which has brought many international visitors to Quang Ninh. Since the beginning of the year, Quang Ninh has welcomed many international cruises with more than 50,000 tourists mainly from the US, Germany, UK, France, Japan, China... It is reported that Quang Ninh will welcome about 80 ships, with more than 100,000 international tourists in 2025.

To attract the high-end international visitors, Quang Ninh's tourism industry has strengthened tourism promotion at many events. In addition, many tourism businesses have focused on approaching the flow of high-paying international tourists. For example, Vietyacht Club has invested in 20 private yachts worth hundreds of thousands to millions of USD, focusing on developing high-end experience services on Ha Long Bay and Bai Tu Long Bay for the luxury segment, of which 65% of the market share is international visitors.

Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh province Nguyen Lam Nguyen said that with the goal mentioned above, for the last months of 2025 and the following years, the tourism industry is making efforts to organize tourism promotion programs in China, Taiwan (China), South Korea, India, Malaysia, Australia and so on. At the same time, the province works with tour operators and shipping lines in Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Bac Hai to make Quang Ninh a four-season destination for this tourist group.

Quang Ninh's tourism industry will continue to call on prestigious investors to develop more new tourism products, aiming at resorts for the luxury segment in the coming time. The province also increases the supply of high-end hotels and seeks partnerships with hotels with international brands, and improves the quality and consistency of accommodation establishments in completing the star rating system for hotels.

It aims to develop high-quality eco-tourism areas on the islands of Van Don Special Zone, with entertainment complexes, shopping centers, and golf courses.

The increasing number of international visitors to Quang Ninh, in which the flow of high-end travelers has proven the efforts of the province and the tourism industry in constantly diversifying products, increasing experiences, prolonging stays, increasing the spending power of tourists, and creating promotional activities to stimulate tourism demand. It is these efforts that are the leverage for Quang Ninh and the tourism industry to successfully implement the goal of welcoming more than 20 million visitors, including 4.5 million international visitors and revenue of more than VND 57,000 billion in 2025.
