Six Vietnamese Universities Listed in the World University Rankings 2023
On October 12, 2022, the ranking organization Times Higher Education announced the World University Rankings 2023 (THE WUR 2023).
The Vietnamese institutions to be featured include the Vietnam National University-Hanoi (VNU), Vietnam National University-Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM), Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Ton Duc Thang University, Duy Tan University, and Hue University. This is the first time Hue University named on the list.

The Vietnam National University-Hanoi (VNU) continued to maintain its position in the 1001st-1200th group of 1799-ranked higher education institutions. Moreover, the VNU’s ranking points increased in two areas: Citations (up from 41.5 points in THE WUR 2022 to 45.9 points in THE WUR 2023) and Industry Income (up from 36.6 points in THE WUR 2022 to 38.9 points in THE WUR 2023).

In addition, Duy Tan University and Ton Duc Thang University were ranked in the 401st-500th group and the remaining three in the 1501st.
According to THE WUR 2023, those topping the rankings comprise Oxford University, Harvard University, Cambridge University, Stanford University, and Massachusetts Institute of Science and Technology.

The best Asian performers were Peking University and Tsinghua University (China), the National University of Singapore, the University of Hong Kong, and Nanyang Technological University (Singapore).
THE WUR Rankings are based carefully on 13 calibrated performance indicators that measure an institution’s performance across four areas: teaching, research, knowledge transfer, and international outlook.
