Sports exchange marks 50th anniversary of ASEAN
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs organised a sports exchange themed 'ASEAN Jubilee Friendship Game' at the Indoor Athletics Palace in Hanoi on July 22.

The event, held as part of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of ASEAN establishment (August 8, 1967 – 2017), attracted the participation of more than 300 athletes from a number of Vietnamese agencies and embassies of ASEAN countries in Hanoi.
The participants competed in four events including football, table tennis, badminton and tennis.

In his speech at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Quoc Dung emphasised that the event aimed to strengthen the solidarity, friendship, and mutual understanding among between officials of ministries and agencies of ASEAN countries, as well as promote a healthy lifestyle among people in the ASEAN region.
The event also provided a sound opportunity for ASEAN officials of foreign affairs to meet and exchange experiences as well as enhance the efforts made to building ASEAN into a solid, strong and developed bloc, he noted./.
