This was emphasized by Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hong Huong, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Veterans Association and Chairman of the Vietnam National Committee for the Vietnam Friendship Village, at the 19th International Committee Conference for the Vietnam Friendship Village, held in Hanoi on the morning of March 30.

Over the past three years, the Village has consistently received guidance and care from the Central Vietnam Veterans Association, alongside support from the Government, central and local ministries, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Ministry of National Defense, the International Committee, and various domestic and international organizations and individuals.

The Vietnam Friendship Village has successfully fulfilled its missions in providing care, nutrition, medical treatment, and vocational education for children; as well as nursing, therapy, and rehabilitation for veterans and former young volunteers. It has effectively conducted people-to-people diplomacy and maintained strong relations with the International Committee and the various National Committees for the Vietnam Friendship Village. It also met the targets and commitments agreed upon in the Memorandum of Understanding from the 18th International Committee Conference.

It regularly provides nursing care for 60 veterans per month, having received and cared for 1,455 turns of veterans and former young volunteers. Veterans residing at the Village receive dedicated support for both their physical and spiritual well-being.

Between 110 and 120 children are cared for regularly, with 35 children qualifying to reintegrate into their communities and families. Most of these children suffer from severe pathologies, such as cerebral circulatory insufficiency, hyperactivity, and behavioral disorders. They receive constant care and guidance from teachers and care-takers," ensuring that any medical issues are detected and treated promptly.

Regarding education and vocational training, the Village maintains 6 special education classes and 5 vocational classes, including embroidery, sewing, IT, silk flower making, and weaving. The special education program is implemented using a curriculum tailored to the specific learning capacity and support requirements of each individual student.

The vocational program combines theory and practice, helping students gradually develop professional skills, enhance self-reliance, and improve community integration.

Speaking at the conference, Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hong Huong noted that the Village received the direct and close leadership and guidance of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association, the special attention from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Ministry of National Defense, and the effective management, coordination, and assistance of the Government, ministries, departments, and organizations from the central to local levels. He noted that the Village's staff have strived with creativity and solidarity to overcome difficulties and excellently complete their assigned political tasks over the past 3 years.

Employees must continue to uphold their traditions, staying proactive and united in building a stronger Village.

"The Village needs to focus on building a team that is not just professionally skilled but also possesses the patience and empathy required for this unique environment, fulfilling the tasks assigned by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association. worthy of the trust of the people and international organizations," he emphasized.

He also requested that National Committees in the US, Germany, France, and Japan continue to serve as bridges, providing not only financial support but also sharing medical technology and modern educational methods to spread the Village's peace message across the globe.

At the Conference, authorized by the State President, Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hong Huong presented Friendship Orders and Medals to several members of the International Committee for the Vietnam Friendship Village, recognizing their significant contributions to the work of the organization.
