That is one of the solutions raised at the seminar "Solutions for sustainable socio-economic development for ethnic groups in the Mekong Delta." The seminar was organized by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City, Can Tho University, the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF) in Vietnam and the Department of Local Ethnic Affairs (Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs) in Can Tho City, on May 11th.

Truong Thi Ngoc Anh, vice chairwoman of Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee discussed with delegates on the sidelines of the seminar.

Truong Thi Ngoc Anh, vice chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front said that the seminar set out some basic solutions.

These help the Fatherland Front of provinces and cities in the region to research, consult and mobilize ethnic groups. It supported them to study, produce, contributing to the implementation of regional goals and development.

Truong Thi Ngoc Anh proposed to the Vietnam Fatherland Front, provinces and cities to gather the opinions and aspirations of the people, especially ethnic groups.

This allowed the Party and State to promulgate guidelines and policies on socio-economic development in areas of ethnic groups.

They encouraged the people to participate in patriotic emulation movements, campaigns and social activities, carry out the tasks of socio-economic development, national defense and security. These aimed to stabilize and improve the lives of ethnic groups.

Along with that, specialized agencies need to promote the role of typical individuals in the process of implementing the national target program for socio-economic development in areas of ethnic groups.
