The event has discussed an overview of Vietnam's renewable energy integration process, and how the outlook and technology trends in the power industry have been developing. The workshop also dived into thematic discussions on the topic of digital technologies for a flexible, safe and stable grid, with practical examples provided by Hitachi Energy.

The panel discussion introduced the most heated debate regarding Vietnam's progress and readiness towards the climate safe future. In particular, given the impending completion of PDP8, the discussion also covered the measures and policies to speed up the development of the power grid. It also discussed how Vietnam can improve power quality and energy efficiency by properly designing and fortifying the future power grids.

Sweden has the similar geographical characteristics as well as power system design to Vietnam. There is a large amount of hydro-generation located in the north while major load centers are in the south of Sweden. Sweden also has a high installed capacity of on-shore and off-shore wind as well as solar PV. All these challenges make Sweden a country with rich experience in developing and integrating renewable energy and applying modern technology in the design and operation of the power grid.

Addressing the event, Ambassador of Sweden to Vietnam Ann Mawe said: "Sweden also strives to shape a sustainable welfare society that inspires other countries to follow the same path. Therefore, we want to promote and enable Swedish Vietnamese co-creation for innovation, building on decades of friendship partnership, to jointly work towards sustainable, resilient, and prosperous societies of the future. The Ambassador also stressed that: "As a long country, Swedens use a lot of energy - yet, emmissions are low. The key for us? Renewable energy, mainly hydro and nuclear, along with a growing contribution from wind".
