The Surreal Photos of the International Photo Contest 2021

Huynh Ha won a gold medal in the portrait awards for a photo titled “Cái nhìn ” (A look) during the 11th International Photo Contest 2021 hosted by the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists.
In addition, Vietnamese photographers also received several prizes, such as photos titled "Giải nhiệt" (Cooling) by Phan Trong Dat, "Niềm tin" (Faith) by Phan Vu Trong and "Công việc lặng thầm" (Silent Work), also taken by Huynh Ha.
The 11th International Artistic Photo Contest in Vietnam is held by the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists (VAPA), under the sponsorship of the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP), the Image Sans Frontiere (ISF) and Photographic Society of America (PSA).
It attracted 1,518 photographers from 53 countries and regions across the globe. From 16,924 works submitted to the competition, the art council has selected 1,900 works to enter the judging round.
The contest consists four categories of “free-themed in color”, “free-themed in monochrome”, “Travel photography” (in both color and monochrome) and “Portrait Photography” (in both color and monochrome).
The VAPA golde medal image in Travel section - Icelandic Aurora was snapped by Ray Hems from the UK.
Kai Lon Tang from Macao (China) with the photo "Strange Encounter 2" won the VAPA Gold medal in Open Monochrome section while Russian photographer Dmitry Polkanov's "Under the Black Sun C8" earned the VAPA Gold medal in Open Color section.
There was over 90 awards, including one FIAP/PSA/ISF/VAPA gold medals, one FIAP/PSA/ ISF/VAPA silver medals, one FIAP/PSA/ ISF/VAPA bronze medals and three FIAP/PSA/ ISF/VAPA honorable mentions.
