Thua Thien Hue: Zhishan awards scholarships to over 500 poor students

Within the first phase, Zhishan Foundation awarded scholarships to 597 studious students from a difficult backgrounds studying in primary, secondary, and high schools in provincial localities.

Each scholarship for primary and secondary students is worth VND 600,000 (USD 25.8), for high school’s students – VND 800.000 (USD 34.4) and lunar new year bonus money as well as gifts for each student on occasion of the International Children's Day and the "Action month for children 2020".

Accordingly, the total scholarship and gift value that Foundation awarded in the province on this occasion are over VND 417 million (USD 17.927).

The representative of the provincial Child Protection Fund informed that, according to the plan, this activity usually organizes in February, but due to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, the ceremony had to be postponed. Although behind schedule, this is still a meaningful activity, timely encouraging and helping students overcome difficulties when returning to school after the long COVID-19 break.

Zhishan Foundation began in 1995, is one of Taiwan’s most successful NGOs engaged in long term humanitarian international aid and development work. The Foundation has been carrying out many projects to support education, health care, and long-term assistant for over 33,000 disadvantaged children in the Central Region./.
