At the exchange, Mayor Ako Kazuokio and his delegation enjoyed watching the matches of the traditional wrestling of Sinh village - a traditional folk martial art with a history of more than 200 years.
This martial art was originally held in early spring as a community festival, showing the spirit of martial arts, village cohesion and good luck. Sinh wrestler can be anyone regardless of age or locality. They wear shorts, wrap a strip of cloth around their backs and perform a nesting ceremony before entering the match under the command of the drum. This is not only a folk sport, but also a form of expression of the morality of honoring the tradition of Hue people.
The delegation leader expressed his impression of the lively atmosphere, community spirit and unique cultural and spiritual elements of the folk sport. He shared that Katsuragi City, which is the cradle of Sumo martial arts in Japan, has a history of more than 1,700 years. He cherishes similar traditional values and hopes to have more opportunities to exchange martial arts with Hue city in the coming time.
