Vietnam, Armenia Promote Trade, Investment, and Technological Cooperation

At the meeting, the Deputy Minister emphasized that the visit to Vietnam by the President of the National Assembly of Armenia in 2024 and the visit to Armenia by the President of the National Assembly of Vietnam in 2025 were important milestones, helping to strengthen the solid political foundation and create momentum to promote cooperation between the two countries in various fields, including economy, trade, and investment. Since the Vietnam-Eurasian Economic Union Free Trade Agreement (VN-EAEU FTA) came into effect in October 2016, bilateral economic and trade cooperation has seen positive developments, especially during the 2019-2025 period.

Ambassador Suren Baghdararyan expressed his satisfaction with the positive progress in bilateral relations and his hope that both sides would continue to promote more comprehensive and deeper cooperation in the coming time. He affirmed that the Embassy of Armenia in Vietnam would serve as a bridge to connect Vietnamese and Armenian businesses for trade and investment. He also proposed that both sides coordinate in organizing trade promotion activities and B2B programs to create business opportunities, particularly in key sectors such as processed agricultural products, textiles and garments, electronics, and information technology.

To further enhance cooperation, both sides agreed to coordinate in organizing the second session of the Vietnam-Armenia Intergovernmental Committee on Economic, Trade, and Scientific-Technical Cooperation in 2026. The session is expected to focus on solutions to boost bilateral trade, effectively implement the Vietnam-Eurasian Economic Union Free Trade Agreement, strengthen investment cooperation, and expand collaboration in potential areas such as science and technology, information technology, logistics, and tourism.
