Recently, a delegation from the Vietnam Higher Education Network of Entrepreneurship & Innovation (VNEI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICAN) during their participation in the Canadian Bureau for International Education Conference.
Hoang Ngoc Dinh, Head of the Vietnam Science and Technology Representative Office, emphasized the practical significance of the MoU, which will enhance cooperation in human resources training in science and technology for Vietnam. The agreement also aims to facilitate joint scientific research projects in priority areas such as climate change mitigation, adaptation, and energy transition. Consequently, research institutions and universities from both countries will initiate joint projects and seek funding from the Canadian government.
Dinh highlighted that bilateral cooperation in science and technology has been limited due to developmental disparities, high costs, and expenses related to technology transfer. He expressed optimism that the MoU will pave the way for more comprehensive cooperation in science, technology, and innovation. Regarding the Canada-Vietnam Innovation Centre, Dinh noted that it will promote knowledge transfer, allowing Vietnam to access global expertise, entrepreneurial spirit, and innovative thinking early and directly.
