From marching in support of Vietnam on the streets of Chile to visiting Vietnam many years later, former Chilean President Michelle Bachelet has woven a song of connection between the two peoples. That bond, simple yet profound, marks her as a sincere friend of Vietnam.

On August 19 in Hanoi, President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) Phan Anh Son received the Brazil-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Group led by its Chairman, Márcio Honaiser. Both sides affirmed the role of parliamentary diplomacy and people-to-people diplomacy in advancing the Vietnam-Brazil Strategic Partnership, while also putting forward a number of concrete cooperation proposals for the time ahead.

Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet affirmed that Vietnam always attaches great importance to consolidating and developing the friendship and multi-faceted cooperation with Bulgaria, particularly cooperation through the Party-to-Party channel.

In 1968, at the University of São Paulo (Brazil), a screening of films about the war in Vietnam marked a turning point in the life of freshman Pedro de Oliveira. From that moment, he began a lifelong journey of attachment to a country on the other side of the globe. For more than half a century, Pedro de Oliveira has been a journalist and historian devoted to researching Vietnam, while also serving as a tireless “bridge” connecting the peoples of the two countries, contributing to the development of Vietnam-Brazil friendship.
