The Laos - Vietnam Friendship Park project spans over 30,000 square meters and is situated in the Xaythany district of Vientiane, the capital of Laos. This area is designated to become the city's new urban center as it expands.
At the heart of the park lies a square and an artificial lake, all encompassed by lush greenery. The central square features a series of reliefs highlighting the historical and cultural aspects of Laos, along with the national flags of both Laos and Vietnam. In front of the square, there are statues of three prominent leaders: President Ho Chi Minh, President Kaysone Phomvihane, and President Souphanouvong.

The project was presented by the Party, State, and people of Vietnam to their counterparts in Laos as a “turnkey handover.” The respective Parties and States of Vietnam and Laos designated the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Vietnam and the Central Office of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party as investors. The project management board aims to make this a model project, ensuring timely completion with the highest quality. The project is expected to be completed in 2025 to celebrate the National Party Congresses of both countries.
At the ceremony, Chief of the Central Office of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, Thongsalith Mangnomek, affirmed that the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Park symbolizes the enduring tradition built and nurtured by many generations over time.

Upon completion, the project will become one of the greenest, cleanest, and most beautiful parks in Vientiane. It will serve the people and tourists, and act as a significant site for educating about revolutionary traditions, great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, especially for the younger generation.
