Vietnam, Japan enhance manpower training cooperation

During a visit to Japan from August 24th-30th, Politburo member and Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly (NA) Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and the NA delegation joined a workshop on “Developing Vietnam economy and training human resources”.

The workshop, which was jointly held by the Vietnam’s Ministry of Labour, War-Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) and the International Manpower Development Organization of Japan (IM Japan), aroused the participation of over 700 politicians and representatives from companies and enterprises concerning the reception of Vietnamese trainees.

Speaking during the workshop, NA Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan said that Vietnam paid great attention to develop high quality technical manpower who can master advanced technologies. Therefore, it attached great importance to cooperate in manpower training and development with Japan – one of the countries that has world leading advanced industry.

She appreciated IM Japan for receiving Vietnamese trainees as well as raising funds for poor young people’s training projects in disadvantaged areas of Vietnam.

Also stating that Vietnam treasures cooperation with Japan in human resources development, MOLISA Minister Pham Thi Hai Chuyen noted that the ministry had carried out cooperation with Japanese authorised agencies and organizations, including a program on sending Vietnamese trainees to Japan, and a program on sending Vietnamese nurses and orderlies to Japan in accordance with the Vietnam – Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (VJEPA).

Since Japan officially received Vietnamese trainees in 1992, over 80,000 Vietnamese young people have gone to Japan for technical training./.
