The Department of Foreign Affairs of Gia Lai province has just sent an official dispatch to relevant departments, branches, and units requesting notification of the contest on singing “Tomodachi - Tinh ban” (Tomodachi - Friendship), a Vietnam - Japan friendship song, organized by the Consulate General of Japan in the Ho Chi Minh City.

“Tomodachi – Friendship” is a song about equal friendship, regardless of distance, age, ethnicity, or skin color, as long as we agree and understand, together we will create a wonderful, peaceful, and happy world. The organizers hope that by singing together, the message of Vietnam - Japan friendship will be continued and passed on to future generations.

The contest is being held across Vietnam by the special committee for the 50th founding anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties (September 21, 1973 - 2023) under the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Ho Chi Minh City (JCCH) in coordination with some agencies and units of the two countries.

The contest is open to Vietnamese people aged 6 - 22 who will sing “Tomodachi - Tinh ban” in Vietnamese and Japanese languages either online or in person at designated places in Hanoi, HCM City, Hai Phong, Da Nang, and Can Tho cities.

The organizing committee will select the 5 best performers and invite them to come to Japan to join an exchange and sing in chorus with local youngsters.

This is a meaningful activity, contributing to strengthening people-to-people exchanges and tightening solidarity and friendship between the people of the two countries.

In recent times, local-level relations between Gia Lai province and Japan have developed many steps. The Japanese Government has been implementing a number of cooperation projects in the agricultural sector such as the project "Improving capacity for agricultural and rural development with people's participation to eradicate poverty in the Central Highlands region" which was deployed in the Mang Yang district of Gia Lai.
