Vietnam Makes Big Impression at Algiers International Fair 2024

On the afternoon of June 24, at the Safex International Exhibition Center in the capital Algiers, the Vietnamese Embassy in Algeria, in collaboration with the Trade Office, held the opening ceremony of the Vietnamese booth at the regular International Fair, which takes place annually in this North African country.

According to Vietnam News Agency correspondents in Algiers, the 55th Algiers International Fair (FIA) 2024 will be opened to the public from June 25 to 29 with the theme, "Gateway for exchange, cooperation, and investment opportunities."
This year's fair features nearly 700 Algerian and foreign exhibitors, including 200 companies from more than 30 countries operating in a variety of fields such as energy, construction, agriculture, industry, services, mechanics, textiles, electronics, shipbuilding, aviation, the environment, and education.
At this trade fair, the Vietnam booth displays catalogs and samples from over 40 Vietnamese companies in the sectors of agricultural products, food, seafood, footwear, textiles, wood products, plastic products, building materials, machinery and equipment, and mechanical products.
According to Vietnamese Ambassador to Algeria Tran Quoc Khanh, this event is a great chance to expand trade cooperation not only between Vietnam and Algeria, but also between Vietnam and numerous African, and European countries, and countries of the Americas, helping to spread the beautiful, fresh, and energetic image of Vietnam among overseas friends.

According to data from the Vietnam Trade Office in Algeria, two-way trade turnover between Vietnam and Algeria will reach US $250 million in 2023, up 68% from 2022.
This figure is estimated to reach US $95 million in the first four months of this year, increasing 5.5% over the same period the previous year. Vietnam's exports include primarily agricultural products such as raw coffee, pangasius fish filets, and chemicals.
The Algiers International Fair 2024 has a display area of almost 50,000 square meters and can attract up to 400,000 attendees.
On the first day of the event, the Vietnam booth attracted a large number of visitors, including representatives from chambers of commerce and enterprises from many countries interested in learning about and collaborating with Vietnamese businesses.
