Vietnam, Mongolia to strengthen education ties
(VNF) - Vietnamese Ambassador to Mongolia Doan Thi Huong recently had a working session with Ts.Tsogzolmaa, Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Sports of Mongolia, in order to promote the cooperation in fields of education, culture, science and technology.
At the working session, the Mongolian Minister briefed the Vietnamese Ambassador on the results the two sides achieved after implementing an agreement on education cooperation between Vietnam and Mongolia.
According to the agreement, 15 Mongolian students will be sent to Vietnam and Mongolian, in return will receive five Vietnamese students who come to the country to study.

In terms of scholarships for student, according to the minutes of the 16th session of the Intergovernmental Committee held in Ulan Bator in August 2017, from 2018, Mongolia will increase the scholarship for Vietnamese students studying in Mongolia to USD150/month. From 2018 to 2020, the country will also increase the criteria of scholarship for Vietnamese students to study in Mongolia, said Ts.Tsogzolmaa.
The minister also suggested the two countries to maintain regular all-level delegations exchange for more experience sharing in education and training, and highlighted the need to send Mongolian teachers in the field of information technology to Vietnam to receive training from Vietnamese senior experts.
Ambassador Doan Thi Huong, for her part, voice her proposal that Mongolia’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports should open a Vietnamese class at the High School No.14 named after President Ho Chi Minh in Ulan Bator. This class will be helpful for children of the Vietnamese community in Mongolia and Mongolian students who are planning to study in Vietnam, she noted.
Furthermore, she took the occasion to suggest the minister to allocate more scholarships to schools in provinces which have close cooperation with Vietnam such as Gobi, Khuvsgul and Tuv. This not only creates human resources but also contributes to promote economic and cultural cooperation between the provinces with Vietnamese more effectively, she noted./.
