“Vietnam Pho Festival 2025” Kicks Off in Singapore

	Making Vietnamese Pho a Global Culinary Icon

The festival was jointly organized by the Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore in collaboration with several local partners.

This marks the first time Pho, a symbol of Vietnamese cuisine, has been introduced in a dedicated festival in Singapore, creating a new opportunity to promote cultural exchange, cuisine, and trade cooperation between the two countries.

Under the theme “Pho – Sharing the Taste, Sharing the Growth,” the event celebrates Pho as a “cultural ambassador”, contributing to the strengthening of cultural, tourism, and investment ties between Vietnam and Singapore.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Desmond Choo, Minister of State for Defence and former Mayor of Singapore’s North East District, said that Pho is not only a beloved dish but also tells a story of family, heritage, and the resilience of the Vietnamese people.

He emphasized: “Pho reflects how Vietnamese culture nourishes both body and soul, and shows that even the simplest things can bring people together across borders.”

Desmond Choo noted that the festival’s theme perfectly embodied the friendship between Singapore and Vietnam, a relationship built on mutual respect, shared aspirations for development, and confidence in a strong, enduring partnership for the future.

Held at a major commercial complex, the festival featured a vibrant Vietnamese culinary space, showcasing authentic Pho prepared by top Vietnamese chefs and culinary artisans, along with other traditional dishes such as Banh Mi and spring rolls.

The event also included photo exhibitions, displays of agricultural products, spices, and tourism services, as well as traditional art performances, offering the Singaporean public an immersive experience of Vietnamese culture.

A highlight of the festival was the Vietnam-Singapore Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Forum, which brought together around 150 businesses from both countries. The event featured panel discussions and direct networking sessions, enabling enterprises to enhance exchanges and explore new opportunities for bilateral cooperation.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Singapore Tran Phuoc Anh noted that the Vietnam Pho Festival 2025 took place at a time when bilateral relations were at their best, especially following the upgrade to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

He emphasized that hosting the festival at Our Tampines Hub, Singapore’s largest integrated community and lifestyle complex, helped spread Vietnamese culinary culture while strengthening connections within the Vietnamese community in Singapore.

The festival ran from October 18 to 19.
