The South African Ministry of International Cooperation and Relations held its annual event, the South Africa Diplomatic Fair 2022 (Diplomatic Fun Fair 2022), at the South African Ministry of Foreign Affairs members of the Presidential Palace in Pretoria on October 22. The Vietnamese Embassy in South Africa attended.

The Embassy of Vietnam educated its worldwide friends about the history, cultural practices, and numerous lovely images of the nation and its citizens during this expo. All of the showcase's visitors loved the beautiful and exquisite ao dai, liked trying it on, and learned about its different applications.

The Vietnamese Embassy also sends several paintings and photographs that showcase the stunning natural beauty, skillfully crafted handicrafts, and fine arts of the homeland.

An indispensable part is introducing Vietnamese cuisine. Bringing to this fair, Vietnam invites international friends to enjoy a cup of fragrant, exceptional coffee of the country with 2 types of spring rolls and fried spring rolls.

At the event, representatives from Vietnam's embassy and other representative organizations in South Africa gave clear instructions on how to make spring rolls with tasty ingredients and introduced the country's typical fried spring rolls, which were well-liked by many tourists.

Hanlie van der Merwe, a South African who was simultaneously savoring two Vietnamese spring rolls, was amazed by the homeland's cuisine. "I really adore Vietnamese spring rolls. The fried spring rolls are well-balanced with all the required elements, and they are quite fresh and tasty."

Merwe said that through the items on display and the conversations at the Vietnam booth, she has come to know a beautiful and friendly country. “I also know that Vietnamese people are very hardworking and honest. It's great because this diplomatic fair is organized to let us South Africans get to know the culture of many countries around the world."

The South African Diplomatic Fair, which was first held in 2006, brings together international embassies in South Africa. The event serves as a platform to promote and celebrate the unity and variety of the globe through national exhibitions and promotions, as well as artistic, musical, and cuisine events.

The 2022 South Africa Diplomatic Fair was attended by 60 diplomatic missions and international organizations, including UN agencies, after a 2-year break caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
