The program was jointly organized by the Vietnam Buddhist Cultural Center in the RoK, in coordination with the Department of International Cooperation (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), the Liaison Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, and other relevant agencies.
According to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in addition to artistic exchange activities, this year’s program also integrated trade, investment, and tourism promotion components. This approach reflects a development mindset that harmonizes spiritual values with economic growth drivers, aiming to deepen, enhance the effectiveness of, and ensure the sustainability of Vietnam-RoK cooperation.

In her welcoming remarks, Nguyen Phuong Hoa, Director General of the Department of International Cooperation, praised the activities of the Vietnam Buddhist Cultural Exchange Center in the RoK and expressed appreciation for the persistent and dedicated efforts of Venerable Nun Thich Nu Gioi Tanh. According to her, the Center has played and continues to play the role of a reliable bridge connecting Buddhism and the peoples of the two countries.
The Center serves as a spiritual anchor for the Vietnamese community living, studying, and working in the RoK, helping community members stay connected, cultivate virtuous values, preserve national cultural identity, live harmoniously, and actively contribute to the host society. The Center has also actively introduced Vietnamese culture, history, and people to Korean friends, thereby enhancing the presence, understanding, and affinity of Korean culture among the Vietnamese public, while further strengthening people-to-people friendship between the two countries.
These are also practical contributions to the implementation of the Joint Statement on further deepening the Vietnam-RoK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, agreed upon by General Secretary To Lam and President of the RoK Lee Jae Myung.
Over more than three decades of bilateral relations, cultural exchange and people-to-people diplomacy have consistently been affirmed as the most important pillars. Vietnam and the RoK are not only comprehensive strategic partners but also two nations sharing many common values, including a strong spirit of learning, respect for loyalty and compassion, and an emphasis on family values. In particular, Vietnamese Buddhism, with its spirit of compassion and harmony, has played an active role in connecting the Vietnamese community in the Republic of Korea, while promoting the image of a peaceful Vietnam rich in cultural identity to international friends.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ha Sy Dong, Member of the National Assembly’s Committee on Economic and Financial Affairs, emphasized that the Vietnamese State is committed to continuing to improve institutions and create the most favorable conditions for cultural, scientific, and economic cooperation activities between the two countries.
