Inauguration of the Vietnamese Cooperation Office in Chungnam Province, RoK

The establishment of the Cooperation Office aims to provide a platform for implementing programs that support students and more than 22,000 Vietnamese citizens currently living, studying, and working in Chungnam Province. The initiative is expected to help strengthen the position of the Vietnamese community in the Republic of Korea.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Moon Seong-Jae, President of Sunmoon University, stated that the establishment of the Office represents recognition of the efforts made by the Vietnamese community in Chungnam Province. He expressed his hope that the new office would foster stronger cooperation between the university, local authorities, and Vietnamese partners, particularly by enhancing connections with activities of the Vietnamese Association in Chungnam.
According to Dr. Nguyen Thanh Liem, Vice President of the General Association of Vietnamese in the Republic of Korea, Founder and President of the Vietnamese Association in Chungnam Province, both the Vietnamese Embassy in the Republic of Korea and the General Association highly appreciate the efforts of the Vietnamese community in Chungnam. Following the inauguration, the Association will work closely with the university to implement practical plans focusing on education, vocational training, and cultural exchange.
Immediately after the ceremony, representatives of Sunmoon University’s Board of Management and the Office’s Operations Board, which includes the Vietnamese Association in Chungnam Province, the Vietnamese Students’ Association, and the Vietnamese Alumni Association at Sunmoon University, held discussions on directions and proposed key projects for the 2026-2027 period, such as vocational training, skills development, and promoting Vietnamese culture in Chungnam.
