Vietnam Wins Gold Medal at Kazakhstan Int’l Circus Festival 2023

Vietnamese circus duo wins gold medal at Int'l Circus Festival 2023 in Almaty City of Kazakhstan.

A unique circus act titled Khoanh Khac Tinh Yeu (Moment of love) by Vietnamese artists Hien Phuoc and Thanh Hoa, won gold medal on July 30 at the International Circus Festival held in Almaty City of Kazakhstan.

The special performance left a positive impression on over 2,000 international spectators present at the festival, Radio the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) cited Director of Phuong Nam Art Theater Le Dien.

This year’s festival brought together 100 talented circus artists from Kazakhstan, Germany, Vietnam, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Ethiopia, Kyrgystan, Uzbekistan, the UK, the Czech Republic, Tajikistan, and Lithuania.

The festival has 16 participating units. The Vietnamese delegation participated in this festival with 2 units including the Vietnam Circus Federation with the performance "The Sword Emperor on a Silk String" performed by artist Khanh Huyen and the Southern Art Theater of Ho Chi Minh City with the performance "Moment of Love" double swing performed by Hien Phuoc and Thanh Hoa.

At the festival, artists from many countries brought colorful and diverse performances imbued with their distinct national identities.

The organizers awarded three gold medals to Vietnam for a double acrobatic swing performance, Russia for bounce and Yakutiya for juggling, respectively.

As for circus artists Hien Phuoc and Thanh Hoa, this is the first prestigious gold medal for their international competitions.
