The event is part of the “Vietnamese Ao Dai Cultural Month in Europe”, an initiative launched by the Vietnamese Women’s Forum in Europe and the Vietnamese Ao Dai Heritage Club in Europe, under the Vietnamese Ao Dai Cultural Association.

The program aims to honor the elegance of the Ao Dai, a symbol of Vietnamese identity and spirit, and highlight the active, creative role of Vietnamese women in promoting national culture to the world.

This is the first time a Vietnamese Ao Dai performance has been incorporated into the academic art space of an international concert in Hungary, marking a creative new approach to promoting Vietnamese culture to global audiences.

The Ao Dai show that opened the concert left a strong impression on both Hungarian and international spectators. The flowing, graceful traditional garments under the stage lights created a unique fusion of European artistry and Eastern cultural charm, celebrating Vietnamese women's elegance, sophistication, and confidence in the era of global integration.

As part of the program, Phan Bich Thien, Chairwoman of the Vietnamese Women’s Association in Hungary, on behalf of the Vietnamese community, presented a handcrafted Vietnamese Ao Dai to world-renowned opera singer Miklósa Erika.

The meaningful gift honored Vietnamese culture and symbolized the friendship between the peoples of Vietnam and Hungary.

Phan Bich Thien emphasized, “Presenting the Vietnamese Ao Dai in the concert space of a world-class artist represents a new and creative approach to promoting Vietnamese cultural values. This is not merely a cultural activity, but also a way to gracefully and effectively showcase the beauty of Vietnam and integrate it more deeply into the global cultural flow.”

Artist Miklósa Erika expressed her honor and appreciation upon receiving the meaningful gift, saying she could feel “the beauty of the Vietnamese soul and spirit” in every detail of the Ao Dai.

She described the Ao Dai as graceful and deeply feminine, noting that its combination with long pants gives it a modern touch, portraying Vietnamese women as both traditional and dynamic.

Miklósa added that she plans to wear the Ao Dai in her upcoming performances and cultural exchange events.

The event not only helped promote the image of Vietnam and its people to international friends but also served as a vivid testament to the spirit of integration, creativity, and confidence of Vietnamese women in Hungary and across Europe.

It highlighted how the Vietnamese Ao Dai continues to shine abroad, carrying with it a sense of national pride and contributing to affirming the cultural identity of Vietnam on the global stage.
