Vietnamese Community in Osaka-Kansai Celebrates the Lunar New Year 2025

	Vietnamese, Japanese Geoparks Boost Cooperation
	Homeland Values on Display at Osaka's Vietnam Festival

The year-end gathering provided an opportunity for families, friends, and partners to reminisce, express gratitude for the support and assistance received, and welcome the New Year together with hopes for a brighter future.

Over 200 guests, including representatives from government agencies, businesses, universities, friendship organizations with Vietnam, the Kansai Consular Corps, and international friends, joined to celebrate with the Vietnamese community, along with association leaders, businesspeople, students, and trainees in Osaka-Kansai.

The event was further honored by congratulatory messages from Wakayama Governor Kishimoto Shuhei, Nara Governor Yamashita Makoto, Kyoto Governor Nishiwaki Takatoshi, Amagasaki Mayor Matsumoto Shin, Wakayama Mayor Obana Masahiro, and Kyoto Prefectural Assembly Speaker Ishida Muneshisa.

Speaking at the event, the Vietnamese Consul General in Osaka Ngo Trinh Ha expressed gratitude to the Japanese government, local authorities, and the Japanese people for their continuous support of the Consulate General (CG) and their facilitation of the Vietnamese community.

He also extended his best wishes to his fellow countrymen, the "people's ambassadors," and the bridges fostering Vietnam-Japan relations.

At the year-end occasion, Consul General Ngo Trinh Ha reviewed the achievements of the CG, which, with the support and contributions of associations, organizations, and the Vietnamese community, successfully organized many programs such as Ho Chi Minh City Day in Osaka, the Hung Kings Commemoration, and fundraising efforts to aid victims of the Noto Peninsula earthquake and storms in Vietnam.

In 2025, the CG hopes to further strengthen community activities, encouraging associations and organizations to focus on training, timely dissemination of policies, and legal guidelines from local Japanese authorities, thereby reducing crime rates and preserving the community's image and reputation.

The Consul General emphasized that 2025 marks significant political milestones for Vietnam, such as the 95th anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam's founding, the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh, the 50th anniversary of the liberation of southern Vietnam and national reunification, and the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

He expressed hope that 2025 would witness even greater contributions from Vietnamese associations in the region to national events.

On the occasion of the end of the tenure of Himeno Tsutomu, Ambassador in charge of the Kansai region, the Consul General extended special gratitude to the Ambassador for his consistent support of the CG's plans and activities.

On behalf of the Vietnamese expatriates, students, and trainees living, studying, and working in the Osaka-Kansai area, Le Thuong shared her joy and pride in the growth and solidarity of the Vietnamese community.

Representing associations and the community, she reaffirmed the determination to unite, build a strong community, focus on work and studies, integrate, and always look toward their homeland, contributing positively to Vietnam's development and strengthening Vietnam-Japan relations.

At the event, participants enjoyed traditional Tet dishes such as banh chung, spring rolls and sticky rice, while immersing themselves in musical performances rich in Vietnamese cultural identity.
