Vietnamese community in U.S donates for flood victims in Ha Tinh

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Vietnamese community in the United States expressed their deepest condolences and sympathies with the losses that Ha Tinh people have suffered in recently serious floods.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu affirmed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs would try its best to create a closer connection between overseas Vietnamese and domestic Vietnamese in general and Ha Tinh people in particular.
Vice Chairman of Ha Tinh Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Linh briefed the consequences of and overcoming work after floods in the locality. He expressed thanks to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Vietnamese community in the United States, hoping that the Ministry would continue assisting Ha Tinh in linking with overseas organizations and individuals, contributing to the province’s development as well as building databases of Ha Tinh people abroad.

On this occasion, the Vietnamese community in the United States presented VND 200 million (US$ 8,646) and 108,373 P&G purifier of water packets in support of flood victims in Ha Tinh province.
| In October, the central provinces, including Ha Tinh, endured consecutive storms and floods, causing great damages. Between October 15 and October 21, heavy downpours left nearly 50,000 houses submerged underwater 1.5m to 3m and more than 3,700 others damaged. Six people succumbed, cattle and poultry were swept away by floods. The infrastructure was severely ravaged. The total damage is estimated at VND 5,500 billion (US$ 237.7 mln). |
